Digital Assets for Social Media
The following guidelines apply to all social media accounts at the Oncology level. Please use these specifications and best practices when submitting your content to be published on these channels.
General Guidelines
Applicable to all social media channels
- Do not use images of Novartis products, product packaging or mentions of any product. This includes objects in the background.
- Do not use content (in fore- or background) that includes confidential/proprietary content, especially regarding intellectual property.
- Do not use content for which we do not have the explicit rights to use, such as products or companies/organizations’ logos.
- Do not use content that features people that have not signed a release
- It’s the responsibility of the content owner to ensure that releases are signed and archived properly.
- In most cases, all content must include a brand-compliant placement of the Novartis logo. For more details, please refer to the documentation found on the Brand Lab. Placement of logo is different for images and videos.
- For quote cards, ensure that all Novartis employee names are spelled correctly and that titles are correct, and that headshots are the most recent version. Please also note that quote cards must be 5 lines or less (approximately 200 characters or 20-25 words), and that text size and font may not be adjusted to fit more copy. Hyphenation is not allowed between lines.
- Ensure that there are no brand, compound or clinical trial mentions in any visuals
- Occasionally, visuals may be used that are outside of Brand Lab templates. These must be sent to Brand Lab for approval in advance. Approvals are granted only for the duration of the campaign and not in perpetuity.
- It is permitted to use photos captured at events, meetings, etc. The content owner is responsible for obtaining permission from the appropriate legal reviewer and for obtaining permission from any individuals pictured.
The following locations and subjects are subject to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) review and approval prior to submission.
- Laboratories
- Research facilities (including pilot plants)
- Manufacturing or production facilities
- Warehouse or distribution facilities
- Anywhere special precautions are required, such as:
- Rooftops
